The Blockchain Trilemma
THE BLOCKCHAIN TRILEMMA Introduced in 2017 by Vitalik Buterin in one of its blog posts, The “Blockchain Trilemma” is one of the biggest issues to a wider adoption of decentralized blockchain. In the middle of a massive bull run, the Ethereum network couldn't deal with the growing number of users and it caused very high transaction time and fees, especially when big events took place like the mint of the Crypto Kitties in 2017. These problems led the founder of ethereum to think about the Trilemma, which states that a blockchain can’t be fully decentralized, safe and highly scalable at the same time.** Is it still true ? Is it essential to gather these 3 characteristics ? Let’s try to figure it out !
Why do Web3 founders need to participate in IRL events ?
TOP 6 reasons why Web3 entrepreneurs should participate in IRL events The advent of Web 3 has brought about new opportunities for entrepreneurs, investors, and technology enthusiasts. With innovations such as blockchain, IoT, and smart contracts, Web 3 has the potential to transform industries and create new sources of value. However, to fully realize this potential, it is crucial for Web 3 stakeholders to build a strong community and a powerful brand image. This is where events come into play. In this article, we will explore why Web 3 events are important and how they can help Web 3 builders achieve their marketing goals, build strong networks, and inspire innovation.
UX & Web3
For the introduced community, Web3 is everywhere. We talk about the perspectives and dream about the moon. > Web3, also known as the decentralized web, is the next generation of the internet that aims to give users more control over their online data and interactions. It is built on blockchain technology, which allows for decentralized, secure, and transparent systems that do not rely on a central authority. > It means dApps have the potential to offer a more seamless and reliable user experience, as they are not dependent on a central point of failure. But how is it going UX (User Experience) wise? How can we design the future of our online interactions?

Tokenomics - State of the art & best practices
**Tokenomics - State of the art & best practices** The word tokenomics has become trendy these recent years in the blockchain space despite an often misunderstanding and a weak implementation in the ecosystem. Although it is a crucial step for web3 projects, many do not understand what makes an efficient token-design, and what made the success of the previous ones.
An introduction to the Arbitrum ecosystem (part 2)
In the first part of this article, we explored the basics of the Arbitrum ecosystem and its unique features, including its use of optimistic rollups and its compatibility with Ethereum. Now, we'll delve deeper into other protocols that are building on top of Arbitrum. Let’s take a closer look at some of the most promising projects in the Arbitrum ecosystem and explore his own token $ARB.
Product Management from high velocity to stable organisation
In this article we will go through the basics on a very macro level of how at Pyratzlabs we quickly build a tech-team to bring the idea of our start-up founders to market and test our product very quickly during the first year until we gain enough traction to raise more funds and organise/grow the tech-team and prepare them for the second year. In this part 1 of a series of articles we will discuss the overarching idea of how we build and manage a start-up’s tech-team during the first 2 years. In future articles we will dig deeper inside how we built, grew, managed the tech-team at our fastest growing start-up “DOGAMÍ” on a micro level (and we’ll make sure to share some hilarious anecdotes along the way ;) )
An introduction to the Arbitrum ecosystem (part 1)
The year 2021 saw the rise of Layer 1 blockchains like Solana and Fantom, which experienced significant growth in valuation. However, in 2023, the focus seems to be shifting towards Zero Knowledge Proof (ZKP) technologies like Scroll and Starkware, as well as Layer 2 solutions like Optimism. Despite this trend, Arbitrum, a Layer 2 blockchain, appears to be leading this new generation of blockchain technology.

Mi-cho-coq tutorial • Proving a minting contract
Let’s now continue our Mi-Cho-Coq journey by proving an actually useful contract. In the previous chapter, we saw how to prove that conditions were properly implemented, we’ll now see how to prove that Michelson mode that makes use of maps are properly implemented by proving a contract that mints tokens.

He then followed the track of Computer Science and Mathematics from bachelor degree in University of Montpellier to master degree in Epitech.
Mi-cho-coq tutorial • Proving if conditions
Now that we’ve proven a few trivial contracts, let’s prove something a little bit more complicated, a contract containing an if statement. More precisely, we’ll be proving a contract that fails if it is not called by the contract owner, defined by the storage. Moreover, we won’t be crafting the contract in Michelson like we have been until now, but we’ll be using Ligo, a high level language that compiles to Michelson.

Mi-cho-coq tutorial • Proving the increment contract
The increment contract we will implement has a natural number as a storage, takes unit as a parameter, and returns no operations along with an incremented storage. This contract works similarly to the identity contract we proved in the previous chapter except that it increments the popped storage by one before returning it in a pair. Proof

This is where Securd comes into play but let’s first clarify a few concepts.
Mi-cho-coq tutorial • Proving our first Michelson smart contract
Now that we have a rudimentary understanding of Coq, let’s start using Mi-Cho-Coq to interpret a simple Michelson contract and prove that it meets some specification. We’ll first get a Coq environment setup with Michocoq working before defining a very simple contract that doesn’t do anything when called. We’ll then prove that it does indeed nothing in Coq, which will require use to get familiar with how Michocoq works.

Mi-cho-coq tutorial • A quick introduction to Coq
The context of this series on proving formally Michelson smart contracts having now been introduced, we can get started using Coq. We’ll first setup a working environment before introducing some of Coq’s core concepts. Please note that this chapter is heavily inspired by the Software Foundations’ first chapter on functional programming in Coq. It is much lighter, but provides many of the examples provided in Software Foundations as I found them very instructive. The explanations are ours however, as to provide a new insight, and we therefore strongly encourage our readers to go back to the Software Foundations’ first chapter after reading this article to get a deeper understanding of the concepts introduced here.

Pymich Use case on decentralized exchange - Part 1
Let's investigate how an automated market maker parametrized by the constant product formula behaves as we swap tokens from one side to the other! A quick and easy introduction, using Jupyter Notebooks to run some Pymich this time 🧐 On a constant product AMM, the price of an asset with respect to another is determined by the amount of tokens each pool contains. Let’s define a function that calculates how many token A’s one would get by exchanging N token B’s in, including a small fee of course.Notice how Pymich requires functions to be annotated with Michelson types, which we’ve imported accordingly:
Mi-cho-coq tutorial • Formal Proving
When designing and implementing an algorithm, affirming that its implementation obeys a precise specification is very much a non-trivial problem. For example, how to make sure that Paris’ line 1 automated metro PID controller code is implemented properly? What about a trading routine at a multinational bank which’s execution will affect millions of transactions a day? A simpler way is to implement a second program that will perform automated tests on the first one. The shortcomings of this method is that these tests are ran on a finite amount of datapoints. Let me explain.
